I am Jennifer Evans, LPC, LMHC. I am a board-certified Licensed Mental Health Professional Counselor in multiple states with over 15 years of counseling experience.
During E-Counseling sessions, I work with my clients using a clinical diagnostic model. Our therapy sessions are based on a diagnosis and follow a treatment plan we create together.
My goal is to help you understand how our brains work. Using a cognitive behavioral model, I explain how our brains process information and how trauma shapes our present. Then, I will share the ways we can interject to stop the negative cycling we find ourselves in.
Every session is completely individualized to the needs of the client. In our first session, we will determine what your goals are. Then, we will work on a plan for each session to meet those over-arching goals. We will go at the pace that you feel comfortable with, so you always feel in control of your treatment.
I always like to mention that one of my passions is Art Therapy. Many clients feel it is easier to explore themselves and their experience through art. If this is something you are interested in, we can explore this modality in addition to traditional talk therapy.
My specialties include:
Many studies have found E-counseling to be as effective as face-to-face therapy. There are some concerns for which E-counseling would not be appropriate, including substance abuse. You and your caregiver will discuss whether you're an appropriate candidate for E-counseling prior to the first session.
E-counseling sessions cost $90 for a 45-60 minute session and $150 for an initial 60-90 minute evaluation.
E-Counseling Services are covered by some insurance plans, but patients will need to file their own claims for telemedicine. We will not file insurance claims on your behalf for any of our telehealth services.
Your care provider will go over a contingency plan with you ahead of time in case of a technological malfunction. Technology is fairly reliable these days, but power outages and other technical issues can occur from time to time. You and your provider will have a plan in place before treatment begins.
Yes. E-Counseling services prefer to utilize Skype, which has a high bit encryption, exceeding the standards set by HIPAA.
